The trail starts on Stanyan Street up the hill from Parnassus Avenue. There are multiple trails in this urban oasis for one to traverse and disconnect from the hectic energy of the city, becoming one with nature. ![]() TBI tip : Pack a lunch and enjoy it on the bench (you’ll know what we’re talking about when you get up there). Follow them to the top, and be prepared for a gust of wind-and a gorgeous view-to welcome you. Sama is proud to be a celebrity favorite head-turning. Make a left when you can’t walk any further, and within 10 minutes you’ll be greeted by winding steps. Sama eyewear claims to have technology for a brain and fashion for a soul. Again, start in Cole Valley and take Schrader Street all the way up to the top. The Tank Hill steps are like Twin Peaks but for those who truly can’t stand the crowds. It’s a winding maze on what feels like the edge of the world. TBI tip: Don’t just gawk at the labyrinth-walk it. The labyrinth is by far the most sacred part of traipsing through Lands End, though. Who would have thought that in the early 19th century the ruins of a communal bath would become one of the most visited spots in the city? Lands End gives visitors dramatic views of the ocean and insight into the marine life where the ocean meats bay. TBI tip : Brunch where the Marina meets the Presidio afterward. The trail begins at Funston Avenue and Presidio Boulevard and is a one-mile walk each way. A stroll through Lovers’ Lane is one to do with your lover, however you define that, and is accessible at any time during the sunlight. From the park’s eucalyptus trees to the baby redwoods, it’s full of nature and true tranquility. The Presidio is a special place in San Francisco. TBI tip: Grab a coffee at Wooden Cafe or brunch at Zazie beforehand. Walk up Cole Street to 17th make a left and follow the signs to Twin Peaks. Simply take the N to Carl and Cole to start your adventure. If not, any time of day will be just fine. If you’re a morning person, it’s worth it to go at sunrise to watch the sun light up the city. An urban hike up to Twin Peaks gives those who are willing to brave the steep incline breathtaking views of both the city and the Pacific Ocean. There is a reason why Twin Peaks is a popular spot for commercials these days - it’s beautiful. Here are our favorite scenic hikes, whichg will make you forget that you’re in the middle of a big city. If you do choose to stay in the city this holiday, a hike is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. It’s tempting to flee the city on Labor Day weekend, but it’s also exciting to stay, since the fog has taken its own summer vacation. The fog slowly starts to dissipate the sunshine makes it warm enough for you to leave your jacket at home and outdoor activities become more desirable weekend activities again. Unlike the rest of the country, in San Francisco, Labor Day weekend marks the beginning of summer, not the end. The facility is fantastic, the workout is killer, and -most important- the Tinder scene at Barry's is going to be unreal.Twin Peaks. So put on your most fetching workout garb and get over to King Street. (Maybe some of them were models/ringers? One shirtless dude casually mentioned that he was taking his third Barry's class of the weekend. The real surprise of the weekend, however, was the number of pretty non-instructors in our class. Barry's didn't disappoint: We took a class with visiting instructor and COO Joey Gonzalez ( swoon), and several of the lovely, SF-based team were sweating through the hour with us. So let's talk about community: If the 500 people who crowded through the doors for opening weekend are any indication, Barry's might be one the most beautiful places in SF.Ĭonsidering how well Barry's instructors have polled in our sister sites' Hottest Trainer contests, we expected attractive trainers at the new SF location. As much as we were focused on pricing ( $30 per class, discounts available with multi class packs), opening dates ( now open), and apparel (tons of cute shwag), Adam and Justin kept returning to the topic of community. In April, we met up with Barry's Bootcamp San Francisco owners Adam Shane and Justin Roja to get the lowdown on the Bay Area's first franchise of the wildly popular studio.
